If your payment doesn’t go through, it’s usually because of the size of your order, your address or your browser. Find your situation below.
Your order has too many reservations
Large orders can time out during payment. Keep each order to fewer than four train reservations, and split bigger bookings into separate orders. Booking paper reservations? Keep them together in one order, so you only pay the €9 shipping fee once.
Your address is very long
A long address can sometimes cause problems with payment. Try splitting it across both address lines.
Your browser is causing the problem
Stored cookies, cached data or earlier failed attempts can block your payment. These steps often help:
- Use a laptop or desktop computer with Google Chrome, if you can.
- Turn off any browser extensions or add-ons for now.
- Remove all reservations from your cart and log out.
- Clear your browser’s cache and cookies. On a phone, clear them in your default browser.
- Open a new incognito or private window.
- Log in again and start your booking from the beginning.
You see a blank screen after paying
Don’t place another order straight away. First, check whether the money has left your bank account:
- If you were charged: check your email and Reservations overview in your account. Your confirmation can take up to an hour to arrive. Still nothing after an hour? Contact us.
- If you weren’t charged: you can try booking again.
Your payment was rejected
First, check that:
- you have enough money available
- your payment details are correct
- your card hasn’t reached a daily, weekly or monthly spending limit
If you can, try another payment method. iDEAL and PayPal usually work best. If everything looks right and your payment is still rejected, contact us.
