Unfortunately, it is not possible to choose your own seats when making a seat reservation via our self-service. Our reservation system is automated and assigns seats based on availability.
Please note, however, that for some trains, selecting your own seat is possible if using alternative booking methods.
In the case of groups travelling together, it might sometimes happen that a member of your party is allocated a seat in a different carriage. This is not something that can be amended by our customer service. Should you be affected by a similar seating issue, we advise you to have this changed locally at the station's ticketing office or to request help from the conductor on board. We also find that most travellers are usually quite happy to swap seats to allow friends and family to travel together.
It may be useful to note that certain night trains take gender into account when assigning berths. This is because some services, such as the InterCity Notte in Italy, operate with same-sex compartments.
For disabled travellers who require wheelchair-accessible seating, we recommend referring to this page for information on requesting specific seats and arranging assistance.
