Some trains, especially high-speed day and night trains, have limited Pass holder seats which sell out quickly. Once these seats are fully booked, you’ll have to book another train or buy a full-fare ticket directly from the railway carrier.
Hence, it is highly recommended to book your reservations as far in advance as possible, especially when travelling during the high season (May-September) and festive period. You can book reservations for most trains between 3 and 6 months in advance.

PS:
The pre-booking period indicated by railway companies should be considered indicative, as it is possible that it may take longer than stated.
Our Reservation Self-Service tool does not have visibility of availability without attempting to make a booking. To view real-time availability and pricing, you need to have a Pass and be logged in. You may also check the railway companies’ own websites in advance to see if seats are available, but please note that this information can be fragmented and may not reflect the limited Pass holder quota available on certain trains.
