For most trains, you can book a seat reservation 60 to 90 days before you travel. Eurostar is the main exception: you can book it with us up to six months in advance.
If you try to book further ahead, the train might not show a price or journey details yet, and you may see an error message. This doesn’t mean the train is sold out. Booking just hasn’t opened yet.
Book as early as you can
Eurostar only has a limited number of seats for travellers with a Pass, so it’s worth booking as soon as you know your travel dates. Other popular trains, like TGV and night trains such as Nightjet and EuroNight, don’t have this limit, but they can still sell out quickly. The busiest times are weekends and the summer months, from June to September.
Booking far ahead?
Train operators change their timetables twice a year, in June and December. Trains can also change because of track works or repairs. If you’ve booked early, check that your train still runs as planned before you travel.
