Generally, Interrail Passes cannot be used in your own country of residence if you live in one of the 33 included countries in the Pass Network.
If you have an Interrail Global Pass, you can only travel on one travel day to leave your country of residence (outbound) and on one travel day to return (inbound). You can use these journeys in your country during travel days at any point in your Pass’ validity.
Interrail One Country Passes are only valid for the trains in the country indicated on the Pass. You cannot purchase an Interrail One Country Pass for your own country of residence nor can you a One Country Pass to travel from your own country to the selected country.
Furthermore, while the Interrail Benelux and Nordic Pass are valid in multiple countries, if you're one from the included countries, you also still cannot use these Passes to travel within your own country. For example:
- The Benelux Pass is valid in 3 countries, but if you're a Dutch resident, you can only use this Pass for travel in Belgium and Luxembourg.
- The Nordic Pass is valid in 4 countries, and if you're a Swedish resident, you can only use this Pass for travel in Denmark, Norway and Finland.
