As a company, we believe that everyone should be able to enjoy traveling by train in Europe. This is why we have a special offer for people with reduced mobility who need assistance during their travels: a complimentary Mobile Pass may be issued for a travel companion. This travel companion must be at least 17 years old.
Please note that the offer is only valid for Passes purchased directly from the official Interrail or Eurail website. If you received your Pass through one of our partners, please contact them directly for assistance. The issuer can be found in the confirmation email of your order.
To apply for a complimentary Mobile Pass, one must complete this form and attach a copy of the national Disability ID card, an official medical/physician's letter/statement, or an equivalent. Please attach English documents if possible; if they are in another language, we might not be able to verify them.
We will then review your request and the documents you provided. It is at our discretion whether to issue a complimentary Pass to your travel companion.
If your request is approved, you will be asked to purchase a Pass for the person with Reduced Mobility on our website (Eurail.com/Interrail.com) and complete another form with the personal details of the travel companion. Please note that if the traveller with reduced mobility is a child (aged 12 or younger), a Youth Pass should be purchased on their behalf.
Once the details are received, we will issue a complimentary Mobile Pass identical to the one purchased (*note: One Country Passes and special Passes such as the Plus Pass or Erasmus+ cannot be issued as Complimentary Passes; a standard Global Pass of similar value will be issued instead).
We would like to clarify that a Complimentary Mobile Pass can only be issued for one travel companion per purchased Pass for a person with reduced mobility. Therefore, if a traveller with reduced mobility requires assistance from two different companions during their trip, they must purchase two separate Passes for themselves.
Lastly, the Complimentary Pass offer is intended for travellers with reduced mobility to receive support during their trip. Therefore, the Complimentary Pass should not be used independently, but only in combination with the respective Pass of the traveller with reduced mobility.
