TGV is the French high-speed train. It runs across France and to Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Italy and Spain. TGV Lyria runs between France and Switzerland. All TGV trains need a seat reservation.
TGV trains are popular and can sell out well in advance, so it’s best to book as early as you can. For most trains, you can book 60 to 90 days before you travel.
If TGV is sold out with us, here’s what you can try.
1. Book another way
- B-Europe: you can book TGV reservations on B-Europe. When you book, enter your mobile Pass number, or the Pass Cover Number if you have a paper Pass.
- By phone with SNCF: call +33 1 84 94 3635 and press #85 for English. The line is open daily from 08:00 (8 a.m.) to 20:00 (8 p.m.), and you can book domestic and international reservations.

2. Try another time or route
- If your plans are flexible, search for the same route at another time or on another date in our timetable.
- Tick No reservation needed in the timetable before you search, to find trains you can board with just your Pass. The journey may take longer, and it isn’t possible on every route, but it’s worth checking.
