If your Deutsche Bahn (DB) train was cancelled or disrupted and DB didn’t offer you an alternative, you can claim the cost of your seat reservation directly from DB. We can’t do this for you.
When this applies
This applies to reservations issued by DB. You’ll see the DB logo and an order number, shown as “Auftragsnummer”, on your reservation ticket.
Paid with reservation credits from your Plus Pass? This doesn’t apply to you. Contact us instead, as refunds work differently for reservations booked with credits.
How to request your refund
Claim the cost of your reservation with DB’s passenger rights claim form:
- Get the form: go to DB’s passenger rights claim form page, or fill in and print the form directly.
- Fill it in and sign it: add the details of your journey, your order number (“Auftragsnummer”), your address, bank details, email address and phone number.
- Add your documents: include a copy of your seat reservation and, if you have it, any confirmation of the cancellation.
- Send it to DB: hand it in at a DB Travel Centre, or send it by post to the address below. You can print DB’s address label to stick on the envelope.
DB’s address:
DB Dialog GmbH
Servicecenter Fahrgastrechte
60647 Frankfurt am Main
Germany
What to have ready
